Fire at Secretariat doused shortly

The fire that broke out at a multi-storey building at the Bangladesh Secretariat has been doused.
Shahjahan Sikder, duty assistant director (media cell) at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, said an exhaust fan on the ninth floor of the 20-storey building, which housed the Ministry of Public Administration, caught fire due to an electric short circuit around 2:00 pm.
On information, three firefighting units rushed to the spot; however, the fire was extinguished with a fire extinguisher before they arrived around 2:15 pm.
