The verdict in the case filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, her daughter Tulip Siddique, and 11 others over allegations of corruption in plot allocation in the Purbachal New Town project is scheduled for Monday.

To prevent any untoward incidents, heightened security measures have been put in place at the Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 premises, including the deployment of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel.

Since early Monday morning, police and BGB personnel have been on high alert at the main entrances of the court. Additional police officers have been deployed on the verandas and at entry points of the special court’s courtroom building.

A senior police officer in charge of security told Jago News that, in addition to routine measures, extra precautions have been taken due to the importance of the case, and suspicious individuals are being questioned.
