Panchagarh records another drop, temperature hits 11.7°C

The temperature in Panchagarh has dropped again, both at night and during the day. Tetulia Weather Office recorded the season’s lowest temperature so far at 11.7°C on Tuesday (2 December) at 9:00 am.

On Monday, the minimum temperature was 13.3°C, while the daytime maximum dropped to 26°C. Earlier, on 23 November, Tetulia had recorded the previous lowest temperature of the season at 12°C. Since then, the minimum temperature fluctuated between 14°C and 15°C. Light fog and noticeable cold are felt every evening, and the area remains covered with light to dense fog throughout the night, though the chill tends to ease after sunrise.

Foyzul Islam, a rickshaw puller from Jalashi Para in the district, said, “It has been cold since yesterday evening. Over the past few days, the cold is noticeable from evening until morning. The area stays foggy at night, and it feels particularly chilly at Fajr time. However, the cold sensation decreases after sunrise.”

Acting officer of Tetulia Weather Office, Jitendranath Roy, confirmed that on Tuesday at 9:00 am, the season’s lowest temperature of 11.7°C was recorded, while the previous day’s minimum was 13.3°C. He added that in recent days, the minimum temperature had generally fluctuated between 14°C and 15°C.
