Mohammadpur double murder: Case filed against housemaid

A murder case has been filed against a housemaid, Ayesha, in connection with the killings of Laila Afroze, 48, and her daughter Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz, 15, in Dhaka's Mohammadpur.

AZM Azizul Islam, husband of Laila, lodged the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on Tuesday.

Confirming the matter, the police station officer-in-charge Mejbah Uddin said CCTV footage shows Ayesha entering the apartment wearing a burqa and leaving later wearing Nafisa’s school uniform and carrying a school bag.

“She might have killed the mother and daughter,” the OC said, adding that police are trying to arrest the accused. Legal action will also be taken against anyone else found involved in the incident.

Earlier, on Monday, December 8, police recovered the bodies of Laila and Nafisa from their flat in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
