5 inmates granted sentence remission ahead of Victory Day

The Department of Prisons has ordered the remission of the remaining sentences of five inmates convicted of minor offences on the occasion of Victory Day.
Assistant Inspector General of Prisons (Media and Development) Md. Jannatul Farhad confirmed the development on Wednesday, stating that the decision was taken on humanitarian grounds.
The five prisoners will be released immediately upon the issuance of the official notification.
The identities and other details of the beneficiaries have not been disclosed by the Department of Prisons.
