5 more die of dengue, 387 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least five people died of dengue, while 387 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the five deaths, two were from Barisal Division, two from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and one from Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

With the latest fatalities, the total dengue death toll in this year has risen to 409, and the total number of hospital admissions has reached 147,700.

Among the newly admitted patients, 40 are from Barisal Division (outside city corporation), 83 from Dhaka Division (outside city corporation), 53 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 55 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 71 from Chattogram Division (outside city corporation), 33 from Khulna Division (outside city corporation), 26 from Mymensingh Division (outside city corporation), 22 from Rajshahi Division (outside city corporation), and 4 from Sylhet Division.

A total of 101,214 patients were admitted with dengue, and 575 deaths were reported in 2024.
