172 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

A total of 172 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

Of the 172 fresh cases, 34 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 32 in Chattogram division, 18 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 34 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 20 in Khulna division, 21 in Mymensingh division, nine in Rajshahi division, one in Rangpur division and three in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 409 deaths while the disease inflicted 101,053.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
