Hadi’s body arrives in Dhaka
The body of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, arrived in Dhaka on Friday evening, December 19.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG-385, carrying his body, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 5:45 pm.
The flight departed Singapore’s Changi International Airport at 2:03 pm (Bangladesh time).
Inqilab Mancha had earlier, in its official Facebook post, urged supporters to line both sides of the road from the airport to Shahbagh in an orderly manner to pay their respects.
Hadi’s body will be taken to the Dhaka University Central Mosque for public viewing, it added.
Earlier, on December 12, Hadi was shot by two assailants on Box Culvert Road in the capital's Bijoynagar area while traveling on a rickshaw after Jumma prayers. He was initially treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital before being transferred to Evercare Hospital later that day.
For advanced medical treatment, he was flown to Singapore on Monday, December 15, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
