Non-traveling visitors barred from Shahjalal Airport for 24 hours
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will restrict access to non-traveling visitors for 24 hours, from 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 24, to 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 25.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) made the announcement in a public notice issued on Tuesday, December 23.
In the public notice, the airport cited “special operational and security requirements” as the reason for the temporary measure, aimed at ensuring passenger safety, reducing congestion, and maintaining smooth terminal operations.
During this period, only passengers with valid tickets and boarding passes will be allowed inside the departure area. Well-wishers, accompanying persons, and other non-essential visitors will be denied entry.
Airport and airline officials have urged the public to cooperate with the restriction, stressing that it is intended to enhance service delivery and security during a peak travel period.
