Hasina responsible for Khaleda's death: Law Adviser
Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul has claimed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government bear responsibility for the death of ex-Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Speaking at a press conference outside the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka on Tuesday, December 30, Asif Nazrul said that Khaleda Zia had been subjected to severe mistreatment while in prison.
He said the case that led to her imprisonment was “completely fabricated,” a fact confirmed through Supreme Court appeals and reviews.
Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus had personally ensured that Khaleda Zia received all necessary care during her illness, he noted, adding that if her condition had required treatment abroad, the interim government would have provided full support.
