Nepal FM in Dhaka to pay respect to Khaleda Zia
Nepal’s Foreign Minister Bala Nanda Sharma arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday night to pay his final respects to former Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
After landing in the capital, he was received at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, and Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh M Farhadul Islam.
According to a press release issued by Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit signifies Nepal’s deep respect for the late leader and recognises her role in strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh, particularly during her third term as prime minister.
Minister Sharma is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on January 1 after attending the funeral rites, the release said.
