Nine international flights have failed to land at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka, due to dense fog, and these have been diverted to Chattogram, Kolkata, and Bangkok.

The flights have been redirected to three alternative airports for security purposes as the HSIA runway was not visible due to fog from Thursday night, January 1, to the early hours of Friday, January 2, HSIA Executive Director Group Captain SM Ragib Samad said this afternoon.

Flight operations resumed from 9:00 am after the weather returned to normal, and the diverted flights are being brought back, he said.
