Ongoing cold wave likely to continue till Jan 11
The current cold wave sweeping parts of the country will continue for three to four more days until January 11, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
According to the BMD regular weather update, “A mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Barishal divisions and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Kishoregonj, Manikganj, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Netrokona, Moulvibazar, Lakshmipur and Cumilla, and it may continue.”
Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning, and it may continue till noon at places.
Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged, and day temperature may rise slightly over the country.
The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
The country’s lowest temperature was recorded at Badalgachhi in Naogaon at 6.7 degrees Celsius, while Dhaka recorded the season's lowest 11.9 Degrees Celsius on Wednesday, January 7.
Besides, the well-marked low over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean persisted over the same area.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further.
