ASI’s motorcycle stolen from inside police station; case filed

A motorcycle belonging to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md Firoz, posted at Bhatara Police Station in the capital, has been stolen. A case was filed with the police station in connection with the incident on Sunday.

Bhatara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Imaul Haque confirmed the matter to Jago News on Sunday (January 11) afternoon.

He said the motorcycle was stolen from a parking area around 4:30 am on Saturday (January 10). “A case has been filed. We are investigating the incident and working to arrest the suspects and recover the motorcycle,” the OC added.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage shows two masked individuals stealing the motorcycle. The suspects were seen loitering in front of the police station gate while wearing masks. At one point, one of them entered the police station premises and broke the lock of the motorcycle, while the other stood guard outside. They later pushed the motorcycle out of the police station area together.

Police sources said the black Yamaha FZS Version-2 motorcycle was locked and parked beside a water tank near the northern gate of Bhatara Police Station.

ASI Firoz told the media that he had parked the motorcycle inside the police station on Friday night before going out on duty. When he returned to the station in the morning, he found the motorcycle missing from its parking spot. After reviewing the CCTV footage, he learned that two masked individuals had stolen it. The helmet kept with the motorcycle was also taken.

He added that the motorcycle was fitted with a Global Positioning System (GPS) tracker. However, the thieves took the motorcycle into an alley outside the police station and removed the GPS tracker, making it impossible to trace the vehicle’s current location.
