2 die as three buses collide in Sylhet
Two people were killed and 12 others injured in a collision among three buses in Sylhet's Osmaninagar on Saturday morning, January 17.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
According to the police and locals, an Ena Paribahan bus and a Shyamoli Paribahan bus collided head-on in front of Jamia Arabia Islamia Darul Quran Doyamir Madrasa on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 6:30 am. After a while, a Unique Paribahan bus collided with the two vehicles, leaving two dead and at least 10 others injured.
Personnel from the Tajpur Fire Service, Osmaninagar police station, and highway police rescued the injured and took them to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, Sylhet.
Osmaninagar police station's officer-in-charge, Md Morshedul Hasan Bhuiyan, confirmed the matter.
