Biman to resume Dhaka–Karachi flights from Jan 29
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced that it will resume direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi from January 29.
The airline sources confirmed the matter on Saturday, January 24.
Officials said the new route is expected to make travel between Bangladesh and Pakistan more convenient and efficient, while also opening new opportunities for business, tourism, and family visits.
Biman emphasised its commitment to passenger safety and high-quality service, noting that the flights will be operated using modern aircraft and experienced crews.
Passengers can book tickets or obtain flight information through Biman’s sales offices, authorized travel agents, call center, or the airline’s official website.
Direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi had been suspended for several years. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) previously operated the route, but services were halted in 2018 due to financial losses.
Following the 2024 public uprising, diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan improved. Last year, direct cargo shipments from Karachi to Chattogram resumed, and Pakistan’s private carrier Air Sial received approval to operate direct flights to Bangladesh.
Now, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will also provide direct passenger service on this route.
