GD seeks security for Hadi’s child, brother

A general diary (GD) has been filed with Shahbagh Police Station seeking security amid fears that the child of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Mancha, and Hadi’s brother could be targeted for killing.

Omar bin Hadi, the middle brother of Sharif Osman Hadi, filed the GD with the police station on Saturday night, January  24.

According to the GD, since the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, Omar bin Hadi has been fearing for his own life as well as the safety of Hadi’s child. He stated that the perpetrators involved in Hadi’s killing have yet to be arrested and could carry out further violent acts at any time.

The GD also alleged that various groups and Facebook accounts have been spreading defamatory content against the family on social media and issuing threats to kill him.

“As a result, both I and the child of martyred Hadi are living under constant fear and insecurity,” the GD said.

Confirming the matter, Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moniruzzaman said that the brother of the victim filed the GD seeking security.

Necessary legal steps are being taken,” the OC added.
