3-day ban on motorbike from Tuesday midnight during polls
The government has imposed a nationwide ban on motorcycle movement for three days ahead of and after the national election, alongside restrictions on several other vehicles on polling day.
The ban on motorcycle movement will remain in force from Tuesday midnight, February 10, to February 13 midnight, and the same on taxi cab, pickup van, microbus, and truck from February 11 midnight to February 12 midnight in election areas across the country.
The Road Transport and Highways Division issued the directive under Section 32 of the Road Transport Act, 2018 on February 1.
However, candidates, law enforcement agencies, armed forces, administration, polling agents, election observers, and journalists can use those vehicles during the period.
Travel for foreign-bound and returning passengers will be allowed with valid passports and tickets. Limited movement for public transport and long-distance passenger services will also be permitted as needed.
