CAAB imposes nationwide ban on drone until Feb 15
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has imposed a nationwide ban on all drone flights until February 15.
The announcement was made in a press release signed by CAAB Assistant Director (Public Relations) Muhammad Kausar Mahmud on Tuesday, February 10.
According to the notice, the restriction does not apply to law enforcement or defense agencies. Drones operated for research, surveys, agricultural activities, monitoring, or broadcasting government-organised events may be allowed if prior approval is obtained from CAAB.
The press release also warned that any unauthorised drone flights will be considered a violation under Section 24 of the Civil Aviation Act, 2017, and offenders may face legal action.
