Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus on Thursday said today is a day of great joy in his life.

“From today, we have the opportunity to create a new Bangladesh. Through this, we have completely left behind a nightmarish past,” he said immediately after casting his vote at the Gulshan Model High School polling centre in the capital.

The Chief Adviser added, “We can celebrate today as the nation’s birthday. We can celebrate the whole day, together with everyone.”

Highlighting the significance of the referendum, Yunus said, “The referendum is extremely important. The entire Bangladesh will change. I urge everyone to participate so that we can build a new Bangladesh.”

He further stated, “Today is a day of great joy and liberation, not only for me but for all of Bangladesh. Our nightmarish past is coming to an end, and a new beginning is starting—this is our reaction today.”

Expressing gratitude to the people, the Chief Adviser said, “Many thanks to everyone. I congratulate all of you.”
