This election will remain a model for nation: Home Adviser

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (retired) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Thursday said the ongoing national election would be remembered as historic and set an example for the nation.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after visiting several polling centres in different parts of the capital to observe the voting process.

The adviser inspected polling activities at Siddheshwari Girls’ College, Siddheshwari High Girls’ School, Chamelibagh Golden Era Kids School, Motijheel Ideal School and College, Motijheel AGB Colony Community Centre, T&T High School, and Tejgaon College.

During his visits, he interacted with presiding officers, polling officials and voters, and expressed satisfaction with the orderly and festive atmosphere at the centres.

Replying to a question from journalists, the Home Adviser said voting across the country has so far been conducted in a peaceful and fair manner. He voiced optimism that the positive environment would be maintained until the conclusion of the polls.
