Dr Asif Nazrul, Adviser to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has said that the gazette notification of the national election results will be published by February 14, with the new government expected to assume office between February 17 and 18.

Speaking to reporters after casting his vote at Siddheshwari Girls’ College polling centre on Thursday afternoon, February 12, he said the elected government would take over before the start of Ramadan.

“As soon as the gazette notification is issued, arrangements will be made for the swearing-in of the newly elected members of parliament, followed by the formation of the new government,” he added.

He further confirmed that the gazette notification will be issued by February 14 at the latest, ensuring that the process of government formation is completed between February 17 and 18.

Commenting on the overall election process, Asif Nazrul said the situation is stable, and voting is proceeding smoothly across the country.
