3 killed, over 300 injured in post-polls violence: HRSS

Although voting in the 13th parliamentary election took place largely peacefully, the post-polls violence in at least 30 districts claimed three lives and left more than 300 individuals injured.

Apart from this, at least 350 offices, businesses and houses have been vandalised and torched in the incidents.

The Human Rights Support Society (HRSS) provided this information at a press conference at Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka on Sunday, February 15.

According to the HRSS, a person has been killed in a clash between the supporters of the BNP and independent candidates in Munshiganj-3 constituency. The dead, Jashim Nayeb, 30, was a madrasa teacher and follower of the independent aspirant. 

A clash between the followers of BNP and rebel candidates in Bagerhat's Kachua upazila left a man dead. The deceased, Osman Sardar, 29, was a supporter of the rebel candidate.

Besides, a 12-year-old boy has been killed in an election violence in Mymensingh's Haluaghat.
