Man killed while taking selfie on Cumilla railway track

A 32-year-old man was killed after being struck by a train while taking a selfie on a railway track Cumilla's in Lalmai on Sunday morning. 

The accident took place at around 7:45 am at the Bagmara Dudh Bazar bypass on the Dhaka–Chittagong railway line.

The deceased was identified as Mohi Uddin, son of Shahidul Islam, a resident of Paschim Chenghata village under Barura upazila in the district. 

Witnesses said Mohi Uddin went to Bagmara market in the morning and stood on the railway track to take a selfie, which he posted on his Facebook account.

Moments later, a Dhaka-bound train struck him before he could move away, leaving him dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter, Laksam Railway Police Station officer-in-charge Jasim Uddin said that he might have strcuk by the Upakul Express train, coming from Noakhali to Dhaka, passed Laksam station around 7:30 am.
