Nasimul Gani appointed as Cabinet Secretary

Nasimul Gani, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary.

The appointment was announced on Monday (16 February) through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.

Earlier, on Saturday (14 February), the government terminated the remaining tenure of Sheikh Abdur Rashid, who had been serving as Cabinet Secretary on a contractual basis. The decision was made following his own request.

Abdur Rashid was appointed Secretary of the Cabinet Division on a two-year contract starting 8 October 2024. His term was originally scheduled to end on 7 October this year, but he stepped down eight months before completing his tenure.
