Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, accompanied by members of the cabinet, paid homage to the graves of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on Wednesday noon, February 18.

The tribute ceremony took place at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, where the Prime Minister and his cabinet members laid wreaths and offered special prayers in memory of the late leaders.

Earlier, the Prime Minister along with cabinet members visited the National Memorial in Savar to pay respects to the martyrs of the Liberation War. He offered wreaths personally around 11:00 am, followed by a formal wreath-laying ceremony with the cabinet members.

Following the tributes, the Prime Minister proceeded to the Secretariat for the first cabinet meeting of the new government, scheduled for the afternoon. He is also expected to hold discussions with senior government secretaries after the meeting.
