PM to address nation this evening

Tarique Rahman will address the nation on Wednesday, a day after taking oath as Prime Minister. The speech will be broadcast at 7:00 pm on BTV and all private television channels.

The information was released in a government handout on Wednesday, February 18.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister and his cabinet members paid tribute to the martyrs at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, Dhaka, at 11:00 am and also paid homage at the graves of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

Earlier, the BNP formed the government after securing an absolute majority in the 13th National Parliamentary Election held on February 12. The new Prime Minister, ministers and state ministers took oath on Tuesday afternoon. Later that night, the Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification allocating the ministerial portfolios.
