Body formed to probe graft allegations against BSS MD
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has formed a four-member inquiry committee to investigate allegations of corruption against the Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Mahbub Morshed.
The additional secretary (Grade-1) of the ministry will serve as the chairman of the committee, said a press release on Thursday evening, February 19.
The Principal Information Officer (PIO) of the Press Information Department (PID) and the Director General of the Department of Mass Communication will serve as members, while the Senior Assistant Secretary (Press-1) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will act as member-secretary.
The ministry concerned constituted the inquiry committee as a sequel to the widespread allegation that coincided with the recently published corruption news in various media outlets against the BSS MD.
The authorities concerned want to impartially, transparently and fairly review the corruption allegations raised against Mahbub Morshed, the release mentioned.
It said the committee will deeply review the allegations, take statements from the concerned parties and conduct necessary investigation.
The investigation committee has been asked to submit its full report with recommendations by February 25, 2026, the release added.
