Environment Minister launches hotline to curb extortion

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo has launched a hotline service to combat extortion, terrorism and other irregularities in the Feni-3 constituency.

The announcement came through a Facebook post shared late Thursday night, February 19, where he disclosed the hotline number and invited residents to report any unlawful activities.

In his statement, Mintoo reaffirmed his commitment to keeping the Dagunbhuiyan and Sonagazi areas free from criminal activities. 

Emphasising a “zero tolerance” policy against extortion and terrorism, he urged citizens to raise their voices against injustice and provide information without fear, assuring that the identities of informants would be kept confidential.

He also called on the public to remain alert and encourage others to do the same.
