Travel ban imposed on ex-DIG Sheikh Nazmul Alam

A Dhaka court on Tuesday imposed a travel ban on former Bangladesh Police DIG Sheikh Nazmul Alam amid an ongoing corruption investigation.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court bench assistant Md Riaz Hossain confirmed the matter.

The court judge Md Sabbir Faiz issued the oder, following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Sheikh Nazmul Alam is facing allegations of corruption and illegal accumulation of wealth, currently under investigation by the ACC. The court approved the travel ban to prevent any obstruction to the inquiry and to ensure he does not leave the country during the investigation.
