The Cabinet Division has issued instructions for officials and employees of government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous institutions to strictly adhere to designated office hours for arrival and departure.

The division sent a circular on Tuesday (February 24) to all ministries and divisions, senior secretaries/secretaries, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners.

According to the circular, under the Government Employees (Regular Attendance) Rules, 2019, and the Secretariat Instructions, 2024, all officials and employees of these institutions are required to attend office and leave at the prescribed times.

The circular also urges concerned authorities to take necessary measures and ensure that subordinate offices or organizations comply. Field-level officials and employees must obtain prior permission from their respective authorities before leaving the workplace on weekly holidays or other official leave days.
