Father’s plea for rape justice ends in daughter’s murder

In a harrowing act of violence, a 15-year-old girl was abducted in front of her father and brutally killed, punished simply because he had dared to demand justice for her gang-rape just two weeks earlier.

The victim's lifeless body was discovered this Thursday, February 26, 2026, around 12:30pm in a mustard field in Mahishashura Union of Madhabdi in Narsingdi.

Police from Madhabdi police station rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to Narsingdi General Hospital morgue for autopsy following initial examination.

According to grieving family members and local accounts, the nightmare began 15 days ago when the teenage girl, a resident of a rented house in Mahishashura Union's Bilpar area, was returning home.

A gang of 5-6 youths, led by a notorious local thug named Noora, also known as Noor Mohammad Noora, allegedly ambushed her, covered her face, dragged her away, and raped her.

Devastated, the family turned to former Ward 9 UP member Ahmadullah for help in getting justice.

Instead of support, the family claimed they were pressured to "settle the matter" quietly and even ordered to leave the area. No formal police complaint was filed at the time.

Enraged by the family's attempt to seek redress, the accused youths – still at large – struck again with deadly vengeance.

On Wednesday night, the girl's father, a textile factory worker living with his wife, son, and daughter in the rented home, was escorting his daughter to her aunt's house for safety.

As they passed through the Baraitala area around 8:00pm, the same gang led by Noora ambushed them, snatched the terrified girl from her father's clutches, and vanished into the night.

The desperate family searched frantically throughout the night but found no trace. Tragically, local people stumbled upon her body in the field early Thursday morning.

Demanding exemplary punishment for the perpetrators, the grieving father recounted: “Five or six men, led by Noora, forcibly snatched my daughter from me. We searched desperately through the night but could not find her. By morning, we learned her body had been left at the scene. I want the harshest punishment for those who killed my child.”

The victim's elder brother, heartbroken and furious, recounted the horror to journalists: "The UP member promised to 'settle' it and told us to leave the area afterwards. We agreed to move on the 1st. But last night, while my father was taking her to our aunt's, those six monsters,s including Noora, appeared, grabbed her, and took her away. We searched all night, and this morning, we found her in the mustard field. We want immediate justice for those who tortured and killed my sister!"

Both Noora and his accomplices have gone into hiding. Former UP member Ahmadullah has also disappeared from the area since the body's recovery – his phone switched off, and no statement was obtained.

Madhabadi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kamal Hossain said, “Preliminary information suggests Noora was in a relationship with the girl, which her family did not accept. We have learned that he took her from her father on Wednesday. By the following morning, her body was discovered at the scene.”

He added: “No written complaint has yet been filed in connection with the incident. However, police are actively working to identify those responsible, and one suspect has already been taken into custody. Further details of the rape case will be disclosed once the investigation is complete.”
