Temperature likely to rise from early March
As winter gives way to spring, the country is bracing for a gradual rise in temperature starting from early March, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
After a relatively mild February, the department announced in its Friday bulletin that both daytime and nighttime temperatures are likely to inch upward nationwide from March 1. While nighttime readings may fluctuate during the first week of the month, a consistent warming trend is expected to follow.
Meteorologist Kazi Jebunnesa told Jago News that maximum temperature is already on the rise. "Sandwip recorded a high of 33°C yesterday," she noted. "From early March, people will start feeling warmer conditions, and temperatures could climb further by late March as the season advances."
Jebunnesa also cautioned that isolated rainfall or thunderstorms may occur in parts of Sylhet division during the first week of March.
As of today, the country's lowest temperature stood at 13.1°C, while Dhaka recorded a minimum of 19°C.
