PM gets Speech Writer, three Deputy Press Secretaries

The government has appointed SAM Mahfuzur Rahman, editor of UNB, as the Prime Minister’s Speech Writer, along with three journalists as Deputy Press Secretaries. 

Separate notifications regarding their contractual appointments were issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday, March 2.

According to the notification, Mahfuzur Rahman’s appointment as Speech Writer is conditional upon resigning from any other profession, business, or employment with government, semi-government, or private organisations. 

He will serve for the duration of the Prime Minister’s term or until further notice, whichever comes first. Rahman has previously worked with Daily Sun and Somoy TV Online.

The three journalists, Mostofa Zulfikar Hasan (Hasan Shiplu), Md Zahidul Islam, and Md Sujauddoula, have been appointed as Deputy Press Secretaries on a similar contractual basis, also requiring resignation from any other employment. 

Their service will continue for the Prime Minister’s term or until further notice.

Previously worked with Daily Samakal, Kaler Kantho, and Amader Shomoy, Hasan Shiplu serves as Deputy Head of News at Ekattor TV and Md Sujauddoula works with BanglaVision.
