Ex-DMP DC Kohinoor reinstated after 15 years
The government has reinstated Md Kohinoor Mian, former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the West Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, cancelling the earlier order that removed him from service.
A notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs confirmed the decision on Monday, March 9.
The order was signed by Senior Secretary Monjur Morshed Chowdhury on behalf of the President.
According to the notification, the dismissal order against Kohinoor Mian was withdrawn after reviewing his appeals in two departmental cases. His suspension period will also be counted as part of his service tenure, making him eligible to receive outstanding salary, allowances and other benefits in accordance with government rules.
The decision followed the disposal of two criminal cases filed over the same allegations. After the cases were settled in court, Kohinoor submitted a review petition seeking reconsideration of the dismissal order.
Upon reviewing the application, the President approved the cancellation of the dismissal. As a result, the government has withdrawn the notification issued on February 22, 2011, which had previously removed him from service.
