Govt initiate plans to recruit 4,000 new SIs

The government has initiated a plan to recruit 4,000 new Sub-Inspectors (SI) for the Bangladesh Police. A review meeting on the matter is scheduled for Tuesday.

The meeting, chaired by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, will take place on March 10.

According to sources at the ministry, the Bangladesh Police Headquarters has submitted a proposal to recruit 4,000 unarmed Sub-Inspectors (Grade-10) for various police units to strengthen the force’s capacity and organisational structure.

The meeting will be attended by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) or his representative, the Additional Secretary (Police Wing) of the Home Ministry, Joint Secretaries of the Police-1 and Police-2 branches, Deputy Secretaries of the Police-1, Police-4, and Police-5 branches, and the Deputy Secretaries of the RAB-1 and RAB-2 branches of the ministry.
