Rampal road crash: Groom, 8 family members laid to rest
The funerals of a groom and eight members of his family, who were killed in a road accident in Rampal, Bagerhat, were completed on Friday (March 13). The funeral prayers were held at the Upazila Parishad ground after Jummah prayers.
Local MP and State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Lion Dr Sheikh Faridul Islam, along with senior officials from Bagerhat district and the local administration, attended the funeral.
Thousands of people, including leaders from various political parties, also joined the prayers. The burial process began at the municipal graveyard at 3:15 pm, with the head of the family, A Razzak, buried first, followed by other family members in sequence.

Earlier in the morning, burials were conducted in Khulna’s Koira for four people and in Rampal for the microbus driver.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and State Minister Lion Dr Sheikh Faridul Islam expressed their condolences and grief over the tragic deaths.
The accident occurred on Thursday, when fourteen people, including the bride and groom, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus at Belai Bridge in Rampal, Bagerhat.
