Several Satkhira villages observe Eid in line with Saudi Arabia

In line with Saudi Arabia, Eid-ul-Fitr is being observed in several villages of Satkhira. Adherents of a segment of the Ahl-e-Hadith community celebrated the festival a day earlier, as they do every year.

Eid prayers were held at a mosque in Bhadra Baukhola village of Satkhira Sadar on Friday (March 20) at 8:30 am, led by Imam Maulana Mahabbat Ali.

Similarly, separate Eid congregational prayers were conducted in Kashimari of Shyamnagar Upazila and in Islamkati Union of Tala Upazila. After the prayers, participants offered special supplications for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the country, the nation, and the Muslim Ummah.

Local sources said that, as in previous years, a segment of the Ahl-e-Hadith community celebrated Eid according to a different calculation, aligning with Saudi Arabia.

However, Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed nationwide on Saturday, as the Shawwal moon was not sighted in the Bangladesh sky on Thursday.
