Fire breaks out at Khagrachhari resort
A fire broke out at a resort in Khagrachhari owned by former State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Kujendra Lal Tripura.
The fire erupted around 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 24, at Khrasang Resort in the Alutila area of Khagrachhari Sadar upazila.
Local sources said the blaze originated in a cottage and quickly spread to nearby areas. Residents, along with members of a nearby army camp, promptly alerted the fire service.
Upon receiving the information, a firefighting unit rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control shortly afterward, said Khagrachhari Fire Service Station Officer Mukul Kumar Nath.
The exact cause of the fire could not be immediately determined, he said, adding that it may have been triggered by a discarded cigarette, as the cottage reportedly had no electricity connection.
