The government is planning to revise the policy for the upcoming Primary Scholarship Examination to further encourage students.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj made the remarks after inspecting an examination centre at Motijheel Government Primary School in the capital on Wednesday (April 15).

The state minister said the scholarship policy will be reviewed and revised. He added that decisions are being reconsidered regarding the amount of the scholarship, the method of payment, the number of students receiving scholarships, and the allocation of scholarships for students of non-government schools.

Bobby Hajjaj further said that the government is also focusing on ways to further motivate students and has plans to make future scholarship examinations more organised, disciplined, and effective.

He said the government is working to ensure 100 per cent enrolment of girls in education, and that new initiatives will be introduced in non-formal education to support this goal.

Noting that the scholarship programme has been continued to increase students’ interest in studies, he added that new elements may also be incorporated into the scholarship system to further encourage students.

He also said that the opinions and demands of guardians will be given due importance in the process.
