11-storey building catches fire in Banani

A fire broke out in an 11-storey building in Dhaka's Banani on Wednesday evening, April 15, prompting seven firefighting units to respond to douse the blaze.
The fire erupted in the building in Kachabazar area around 6:30 pm, said Fire Service media cell inspector Anwar Islam.
Initially, three units from Baridhara Fire Station began work to bring the fire under control, and later four more units joined them, he said.
However, the official could not provide information about the causes and the extent of the fire immediately.
