Jamalpur AL recommends relieving Dr Murad from post

Jamalpur district unit Awami League has recommended relieving State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan from its health and population affairs secretary post.

It decided to send the recommendation to the central committee of Awami League in an urgent meeting of its executive council on Tuesday as his different activities went against the party disciplines.

The district unit AL president advocate Mohammad Baki Billah confirmed this to Jago News.

Earlier today, he sent his resignation letter to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting showing personal reasons.

The resignation came a day after the Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the Prime Minister had ordered him to step down from the Cabinet by today.

State Minister Dr Minister has recently made disrespectful comments about BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Acting Chairperson Tareque Rahman, and his daughter Zaima Rahman in an interview.

Amid this, an audio clip of a phone conversation of him with film actor Mamnun Hasan Emon and actress Mahiya Mahi went viral on social media.

In which, he was heard using vulgar language to Mahi and threatening her to take a five-star hotel to rape, prompting a huge reaction among the country people.
