Arrest warrant issued against 5 BCL leaders

An arrest warrant has been issued against five leaders of the Bangladesh Chhatra League in a case filed over beating another leader of the organization at Dhaka University's Rokeya Hall. 

The accused are BCL central committee joint general secretary Benzir Hossain Nishi, DU Shamsun Nahar Hall unit BCL general secretary Ziasmin Shanta, DU unit BCL leaders Shah Jalal, Md Enamul, and Sheikh Tansen. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanto Islam Mollick on Tuesday issued the warrant, plaintiff Falguni Das Tonni's lawyer Abdullah Al Zahid Bhuiyan confirmed.

Earlier on January 24 of this year, Tonni, the joint general secretary of Rokeya Hall unit BCL, lodged the case against five named people and four/five unnamed bringing accusations of beating her.
