Jamaat meets Yunus after BNP
A two-member delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, led by Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman and Nayeb-e-Amir Dr Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, began a crucial meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna at 8:04pm on Saturday.
The agenda centres on advancing the roadmap for national elections, a pressing issue amid escalating political tensions.
The Jamaat meeting follows a 7:30pm discussion between Yunus and a four-member Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) delegation, comprising Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, and Dr Abdul Moin Khan.
Earlier, Nayeb-e-Amir Taher stated that Jamaat opposes Yunus’s resignation, viewing it as counterproductive, and supports holding the next election under his leadership.
Next, Yunus is scheduled to meet a delegation from the National Citizens Party (NCP), led by Convener Nahid Islam, which has already arrived at Jamuna.
