Jamaat prepares for major rally in Dhaka
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is gearing up to hold a significant rally in Dhaka on June 21.
The party has submitted an application26 application to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for permission to organise the event.
On Saturday, May 31, Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Zobayer told Jago News, "We are actively preparing for the June 21 rally. While everything are not finalised yet, we will provide updates once preparations are complete."
Party insiders indicate that the rally is likely to take place at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital. The party aims to convey a strong message and demonstrate its influence through this event.
Although Jamaat-e-Islami has organised large rallies outside Dhaka since the Awami League government’s fall on August 5, this will be its first major rally in the capital since then.
