Islamists not evaluated in 'July Declaration': Parwar
Describing the 'July Declaration' as incomplete, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has said that the country's Islamist forces have not been evaluated in the proclamation.
Golam Parwar made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a discussion organised by the Bangladesh Adarsha Shikhak Federation to mark the July Mass Uprising 2024 at the Jatiya Press Club on Thursday, August 7.
Judicial killings, Pilkhana killings, Shapla Chattar massacre, and teachers' contribution to the July movement – nothing of these has been included in the 'July Declaration', he alleged.
Stating that the spirit of the July has not been reflected in the declaration, Golam Parwar insisted that the declaration must be amended with inclusion of these.
The Jamaat secretary general called for giving the 'July Charter' a legal foundation under the non-party government and holding the next general election based on this.
He, however, said there are speculations in the political arena that a party's thoughts have manifested in the 'July Declaration'.
