BNP could get 45.6% votes, Jamaat 33.5% if AL skips polls: Survey
If the Awami League does not participate in the upcoming elections, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) could secure 45.6% of the votes, according to a survey conducted by the private firm Innovision Consulting. In the same scenario, Jamaat-e-Islami would receive 33.5%, and the National Citizen Party (NCP) would get 4.7% of the votes. Additionally, Islami Andolan Bangladesh and the Jatiya Party would receive 3.8% and 2.1%, respectively.
The findings were revealed on Wednesday (24 September) at the National Archives Auditorium in Dhaka during the presentation of Innovision Consulting’s report titled “People’s Electoral Thoughts.”
The survey covered a total sample of 10,413 respondents, of which 69.5% were from rural areas and 30.5% from urban areas, all of whom are eligible voters. The sample spanned 64 districts across eight divisions and 521 primary sampling units.
At the local level, 8.2% of respondents expressed satisfaction with BNP, while 13.7% were satisfied with Jamaat. For NCP, 9.1% expressed satisfaction, whereas only 6.3% were satisfied with the Awami League.

Alongside satisfaction levels, respondents also shared their dissatisfaction with political parties. About 14.5% were completely dissatisfied with BNP’s activities, while 14.1% expressed complete dissatisfaction with Jamaat. For NCP, 21.5% of respondents were completely dissatisfied, and 20.2% expressed complete dissatisfaction with the Awami League.
The survey further revealed that 65.5% of voters intend to vote based on candidates’ qualifications, while only 14% would vote based on party symbols.
