JnU JCD leader stabbed dead

A leader of Jagannath University (JnU) unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has been stabbed to death.

The victim, Jubayed Hossain, was a member of JnU Chhatra Dal's convening committee. Hailed from Cumilla, he was a 2019-20 session student at Statistics Department.

The police recovered the body of Jubayed from a house, where he taught student, at Arminatola in Old Dhaka on Sunday evening, October 19, said Bangshal police station's officer-in-charge, Rafiqul Islam.

He was stabbed to death, the OC said, adding that the causes of the death could not be known immediately.

JnU proctor prof Dr Muhammad Tajammul Haque expressed deep shock at the death and said he asked the police to analyse the CCTV footages of the incident.
