Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, twin brother of Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mughdo – who was martyred during the July Uprising – has officially joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Snigdho received the party’s primary membership on Tuesday (November 4) during a virtual ceremony held at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman attended the event virtually as the chief guest, welcoming Snigdho to the party fold.

Party sources said Snigdho’s inclusion carries symbolic significance, as his brother’s sacrifice during the July movement has been remembered within opposition circles as a defining moment in the push for political reform.
