Govt to act on its own, if parties fail to decide on July Charter function: Shafiqul

If the political parties do not take decision in implementing the July National Charter, the interim government will act on its own in this regard, said Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

Many preparatory meetings are being held about what decision will be taken, he said, adding, "We, however, expect the political parties reach a decision by mutual discussion."

Shafiqul said this in reply to a question from the journalists at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon, November 6.

The press secretary said the law adviser, earlier, had told the political parties to decide by discussion among themselves within a week in implementing the charter, otherwise, the adviser had stated the interim government will take decision regarding this.
